Broken But Not Bound is an inspiring true story of how one woman is using her own experience as a child who was molested to reach out to others who have endured similar pain. It’s a powerful tale about the strength and resilience of the human spirit. Child molestation transcends race, class and religious beliefs. Statistics show 1 in 4 young girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually assaulted by the age of 18. The rate of childhood molestation has increased 30% in the last two decades. 75% of the perpetrators are men – fathers, stepfathers, uncles, brothers – someone likely known to the child as a protector, someone they love and trust.
In Broken But Not Bound, author April Mason clearly articulates how the soul, even in the midst of confusion, anger and misery, can rebound from tragedy and remind you of your inherent greatness. Her descriptive accounts and self analysis of the life she once endured helps to reassure others they are not alone, and more importantly, they too can overcome their pain and lead productive and successful lives.
Broken But Not Bound is a vivid illustration of the power of God’s love to bring you through the fire and deliver you into a world of self-love and peace.

If you’ve ever dealt with molestation, this book is a MUST READ! ~Kia
“It is a blessing that someone is doing something to help young girls such as myself and even older ones going through these issues. I’m 16 – about to be 17 in May – and I’ve been looking for a great book like yours to help me through those same things.” ~ Name Withheld (minor)
“This book will bring hope to many women, April, as well as men who have been molested and are afraid to share what has happened to them.” ~Rachel BaldwinRichmond, VA
“Broken But not Bound” speaks with a transparent voice of the life of a woman who actualized God’s purpose through facing her own struggles in life. April, this book is a welcomed voice to many women who have been THROUGH, however do not know how to deal with LIFE itself. You allow them to see that they can succeed in the midst of whatever the enemy has tried to do. You give a REAL account of life, helping women to know that the human side of life brings us to question and reason, yet when we let go of our past and learn to affirm our true purpose – WE JOURNEY AHEAD!” ~Dr. Rochelle W. GilbertEducator/Motivational Speaker
“What kind of a woman bares her whole soul, tells all of her darkest secrets, and runs the risk of the world looking down on her?
What kind of a woman opens her closet and reveals her skeletons for everyone to see and judge?
I will tell you, the kind of a woman who has been called by The Almighty God to do great things. The kind of a woman who is no longer bound but is set free!
Free from the worlds shallow acceptance and free to be embraced by her Heavenly Fathers love.
The kind of a woman who is not ashamed and knows her worth!
The kind of a woman who understands her life’s purpose, and carries it out while she displays God’s beauty.
The pain, hurt, disappointment, betrayal, and abuse in Aprils life has lost its power. God now uses it and works it together for His good and His glory, (Healing and freeing others).
April Mason’s book had to be written; her story had to be told. I realize that it took a lot to sit down and form the sentences that equaled paragraphs of pain, this was no easy task. My heart aced as I wondered if she had to relive some of the agony when she visited those horrible memories.
I appreciate each page and each word that she poured out so that her readers can find the healing that they (we) need. It was difficult to continue reading at times; I had to sit the book down for a bit. Her hurt repeatedly jumped off of the pages and into my soul, yet and still, I had to read on!
In my opinion, there isn’t a person on this earth that should not read this book! Men, women, teenagers, and especially parents! There is no way that you can see what God has done through the life of this woman and not be changed! No, no one should refuse to read a story that will not only rock your world, but it will transform your life!” ~ Lisa A. Gore, Self-Published Author
